With the Apple Address Book included with Mac OS X you have a system wide address book with sync ability and much more. But what if you need to place a phone call to a contact in your Address Book? You can have your computer autodial using some mobile phones, but you can't do this with your home phone line.

In sync with Address Book.
ABDialer uses the contacts you have in your Address Book. Every change made in the Address Book is automatically and immediately available to ABDialer. With the Address Book Plug-In you can now dial directly from Address Book, plus you can easily pop up your contact's card from ABDialer with a single click. Even for edit.

|
Works with (or without) any modem. Just as Address Book does with Bluetooth mobile phones, ABDialer can use your mobile phone to dial, even if it's not Bluetooth enabled.
But ABDialer can also use your Macintosh internal modem or any other external modem to dial using your standard home or office phone line. ABDialer can handle every type of situation, including calling cards and dial within a PABX system. Additionally, if you don't have a modem, ABDialer can play touch-tones through your computer's speaker. Simply put your phone close to the speaker and you no longer need to use the touch-pad on your telephone.
Just remember to dust your touch-pad, once a while.

iApps friendly.
ABDialer was built for the maximum integration with your Mac and existing applications. Therefore it well integrate with many iApps already installed with Mac OS X. With a single click you can schedule a dial using iCal and never forget about calling a person, or send an SMS using the AIM/iChat service.
Additionally, when you are on the phone, ABDialer can automatically set your iChat status to Away and pause your songs in iTunes. You can easily reset your iChat status to Available and resume iTunes playing, after you finish to talking. |

Complete integration with other applications. ABDialer supports many options to integrate itself with other applications. The AppleScript support permits you to dial phone numbers from any AppleScript enabled application like FileMaker Pro or Microsoft Entourage. Check the ABDialer AppleScript page to download example scripts. The System Service menu item added by ABDialer, can dial selected text in any application with a simple keyboard shortcut. Additionally the ABDialer Menu includes a convenient "Dial Clipboard" command to dial any number you copy in the clipboard. To learn more on these features, check the FAQ page or the integrated ABDialer Help. |

Dial from anywhere.
Even if ABDialer is in the background, you can easily place a phone call using the ABDialer menu. It optionally lives in the menu bar, making it always accessible. That way, you do not have to switch out of the application you are currently using. Just click the ABDialer menu and select the person you want to call. From the menu you can even choose from recent calls and open the Phone Book window. Additionally, many options are available to control the appearance and behavior of the menu. For example you can let ABDialer copy the phone number to the clipboard instead of dialing. Multiple actions are also permitted, so you can do more with less effort.

International support.
ABDialer recognizes phone numbers in any format you like. No matter if your phone numbers are stored in international or local form, ABDialer can optionally rearrange numbers on the fly to make them compatible with your country dialing rules. ABDialer knows the settings for all countries in the world and also allows you to create customized settings. Now the Dial Rules are even more flexible to let you do everything you want, plus the Locations support permits you to easily switch from one set of preferences to another, letting you immediately change the country settings or the device used to dial.

Redesigned Phone Book.
The Phone Book window is now completely redesigned to have the maximum confort. It lists all your contacts in a well structured and easy to read form. You can view single groups or even the entire phone book, plus a special group resembling the most recent calls. A toolbar is now available with all the main actions. The Phone Book window can be now minimized to just a simple field for manual number dialing. Additionally the Phone Book can be automatically hidden when you switch to another application, to avoid filling your desktop. |

No manual necessary.
Manuals and User Guides can be helpful but, sometimes, quite boring and possibly redundant. Everyone knows this, in fact most Macintosh users don't read manuals at all. So, ABDialer does not come with a User Guide but instead integrates full online help. You can get the help on any topic in ABDialer, just go to the help menu. To make it extremely simple, ABDialer has a Setup Assistant to guide you step by step for basic configuration. The Assistant will run automatically the first time the application is run.
